THIS WEEKEND! Video links and schedule

Hi everyone!

Dr. Head sends his love from the UK, where he says he’s “making sure that you all have a place to sleep at night while we’re over there.” Thanks Dr. Head!

Just wanted to write to you about a couple of miscellanies things for this weekend!

First, here are the links from the last rehearsal! These live (unlisted) on the new DCS YouTube channel. Hoping that the Alleluia video might help you along in your memorization process for that! I’ve also included links to Dr. Head’s two speeches, which detail some of the information about the genesis of this project. Folks who were NOT here for last rehearsal weekend, we encourage you to give these a listen!

Here is the link to the first speech

Here is the link to the second speech

Here is the link to Soon I Will Be Done by Marques Garrett

Here is the link to Alleluia Azania by Sabelo Mthembu

Please remember that these are internal/practice resources only, so don’t share them anywhere! (We don’t want to get tangled with copyright stuff!)

As for the schedule for next week, it’s all detailed out here on our “Itinerary and Details” page! Here is the quick redux, with a more detailed hour-by-hour plan coming soon!

May 20: Rehearsal 11 AM – 2 PM, Break, 3 PM – 6 PM (Partial time dedicated to Byrd Choir, TBD)

May 21: Rehearsal 9 AM – 2:30 PM (with a break with lunch provided TBA), Evensong concert 5 PM – 6:30 PM at St. Helena’s Church in Wilmington

The St. Helena’s concert is in place of a late afternoon rehearsal block, to give people time to eat and change. This is just a more formalized run of all of the rep that you can feel free to invite friends and family to! Dress will be all black with a splash of blue.

It was so nice to see so many of you at the Chorale concert last weekend. The secret is out (finally)! Just wanted to extend thanks to so many of you who supported that project. We couldn’t have done it without you!

See you soon!!

Sarah
