FIRST REHEARSAL: Tuesday, February 6 @ 7:30 pm
We have a lighter season this spring – for myriad reasons – so I’m eager to get started early in the semester next week.
The program is built on two hugely contrasting pieces, neither of which I have done before.
The Vivaldi Dixit Dominus (RV 594) is scored for double choir and orchestra. (Our orchestra will be the amazing Lori Geckle and a string quartet
We’ll balance all that brilliant counterpoint with a work by British composer Patrick Hawes called Beatitudes. (One of my favorites texts and a good shot of positivity for these turbulent times.)
This piece is really written for Lori. We just get to sing along! 🙂
Looking forward to a wonderful spring semester.
And oh, only one concert this term, on Saturday, April 13.
See you soon.
