SATURDAY JULY 6 REHEARSAL PLAN

Good morning,

Today is a RED Day.

No alcohol at lunch OR dinner, please. If you’re lucky, your host will offer you a glass of wine when you get home at the end of day

DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR CONCERT ATTIRE WITH YOU THIS MORNING!!!

I was literally out of words last night when I wanted to tell you how very pleased I was with last night’s concert. It is simply amazing how far we’ve come in three days! And once again, it was so very special that you got to work with Dr. Archibeque. Her comments were spot on, all the way around.

Today’s schedule is pretty straight forward. Two rehearsal blocks.

  • 10:53 am: Stretching w/Esther
  • 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Triage on competition music. Chasing out memory slips, checking pitches in Jericho, stuff like that. In general… lots of soft singing, speak singing, etc. No full runs.
  • 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: LUNCH (triage sectionals?)
  • 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm: All the other stuff. We need to fix My God is a Rock, and take a read through the two NZ pieces as well as The Lord Bless You and Keep You (Tonight’s closer)
  • 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm: DINNER BREAK
  • 6:30 pm: Call-time braided in full concert dress – No Jackets. (Please brings scarves. We’ll decide about that at concert time.
  • 7:00 pm: Curtain

Always hard to tell with Facebook replies, but I anticipate there will be a LOT of Vintage High School “kids” there tonight. We’re having a happy hour after the concert. I suspect it will be an emotional evening – at least for me.

Please stay hydrated. Sing easy! Tonight will be our last chance to really deliver the goods until we’re on the competition stage.

  1. For some reason I got onto this thread and am vicariously enjoying all of your hard work and adventures. Know that so many of us in Delaware and rooting hard for your excellence to shine through – because we already know you’re the best choir in the world. Blessings be on all of you as you travel, sing, conduct, play and generally WOW everyone down under.
