DAILY BLAST: Safe Trip Home!

Good morning!

I think it’s safe to say that was truly the hottest ticket in town last night!! WOWOW!

And I also have to say that it’s pretty incredible what we accomplished in just a few days’ time! Especially sitting out to hear the Stanford (YAY Kathryn!) I was reminded yet again how important it is to perform this music in spaces for which it was intended. Heat notwithstanding, that gorgeous acoustic most definitely gave new breath to the Stabat Mater as well. Simply brilliant.

I have a lot more to say and will plan to send one final post once everyone is safely home or at your next travel destination, but for today…

  • Make sure you see Kathryn’s notes about the bus lists. That’s how we’ll be making sure everyone is accounted for.
  • If you’re trying to check in online, remember that you have to check in with the airline that operates your flight, regardless of how it was ticketed! (Probably Lufthansa or Croatia Airlines. In fact, I’m pretty sure there’s no United or SAS desk at Zagreb.) And, in fact, it may just be easier to wait until you’re at the airport. That usually goes quickly at Zagreb.
  • And finally, know how very grateful I am to ALL of you for giving so much of yourselves to this project, ESPECIALLY in this heat! There were quite a few musical miracles last night!

Sending all my best wishes for safe travels home as Carol and I head off to France for a couple of weeks. Lots of big plans for the coming year so you’d better rest up your voices. :)
