WELCOME TO CROATIA!
I finally have a moment to sit down and write today’s blast after a day of chasing fly balls! But it looks like everyone made it to Croatia, albeit a few of us have a few more hours on the road tomorrow morning. Thanks to Amy and Romina for making this evening’s reception happen! It looks like it was a lovely time!
TOMORROW AT A GLANCE
- 6:30 am: Breakfast for Sheraton people
- 6:45 am: Hilton people check out of your rooms
- 7:00 am: Breakfast for Hilton Canopy people (Check out and bring your bags to breakfast)
- 7:30 am: Hilton people should be walking toward the Sheraton lobby where everyone will gather to board the bus. (It’s about a 10-minute walk.
- 7:45 am: Bus departure for Rovinj
- 11:00 am: Arrival at Rovinj Delfin Port (Store your bags at the Port Office and make your way to the MMC ASAP)
- 11:30 am – 12:45 pm: FIRST REHEARSAL @ the MMC – Part One
- 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm: REHEARSAL @ MMC – Part Two (Did you bring snacks for the break?)
- 5:15 pm: BOAT CRUISE #1 Group gathers at location to be determined. (Check Whatsapp Main Thread)
- 5:30 pm: BOAT CRUISE SAILS
- 8:30 pm: BOAT CRUISE RETURNS
- EVENING AT LEISURE
BUS DEPARTURES:
BUS #3: Will depart from a point near the Zagreb Sheraton at 7:45 tomorrow morning. Thanks for making the trek around the block Hilton people.
Rehearsal Schedule for Wednesday
I’ll have worked out a detailed rehearsal schedule by 9:00 am tomorrow morning, but suffice it to say, we’ll try to read through as much repertoire as we can to get a sense of what’s going to work this week! We are also expecting a local choral director from Rovinj who plans to come teach us a couple local songs. I “think” she’s going to show up around 1:00 pm. (That definitely fits under the “roll with it” banner.)
I’m well aware we’re running past the 2:00 pm rehearsal marker, but obviously, we’re starting later as well, and I want our first experience together to happen with everyone there! Not to worry – that won’t become a pattern.
WEAR YOUR NAME TAGS
Amy will continue to hand out name tags to all participants tomorrow at rehearsal. PLEASE WEAR THEM TO ALL SYMPOSIUM EVENTS (except when jumping into the Adriatic.) It’s sort of a nuisance, but it’s really awkward to interact with people when you’re trying to second-guess their names.

People can also bring their bags to the MMC if they are staying at an Airbnb or hotel in that direction. I’m not sure if they will allow us to store bags if you’re not staying at one of the island hotels.
