The University of Delaware Chorale
THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE CHORALE has enjoyed sustained artistic success both nationally and abroad. Composed primarily of undergraduate and graduate music majors, as well as talented undergraduate musicians outside of the School of Music, The 50-voice choir has been invited to perform on numerous regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association in the last two decades, including national conventions in Los Angeles (2005) and Dallas (2013). In 2007, the Chorale won the Grand Prix in the Estonian International Choral Competition, and has subsequently garnered awards in Tolosa, Spain (2010), Debrecen, Hungary (2012), and Mainhausen, Germany (2017).

University Singers
THE UNIVERSITY SINGERS are a select ensemble of treble voices at the University of Delaware, chosen by competitive audition at the beginning of each year, and comprised of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from over 30 majors across the University. The University Singers perform 4 to 5 concerts each year, and tour regionally to Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. They appeared at the NAfME Eastern Conference in 2013, ACDA Eastern Conference in 2014 and 2018, and NJMEA Conference in 2019. The University Singers perform a varied and diverse repertoire that spans medieval chant, Baroque chamber music, 19th Century opera, contemporary, jazz, and multicultural works.

Schola Cantorum
SCHOLA CANTORUM is the Symphonic Choir at the University of Delaware that is open to students, faculty, staff and community members who love to sing! Under the direction of Paul D. Head, Schola regularly performs large works such as Orff’s Carmina Burana, Brahms Requiem, Mozart C Minor Mass, and the Rutter Gloria with the UD, Newark, and Delaware Symphony Orchestras.
In fall 2018, Schola performed Cherubini’s Requiem with the DSO under the baton of Maestro David Amado.
Placement hearings for Schola are held in the fall and spring each year.

Concert Choir
CONCERT CHOIR is a chorus open to all university students dedicated to the performance of unaccompanied and accompanied choral music in a variety, directed by Aimee Pearsall. This ensemble is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students who represent a large number of degree programs.

Resound
RESOUND is UD’s newest choral ensemble uplifting both idiomatic and non-idiomatic repertoire of black and brown composers. Directed by Arreon A. Harley-Emerson, the choir meets once a week.

International Touring Choir
THE DELAWARE CHORAL SCHOLARS INTERNATIONAL TOURING CHOIR is comprised of singers from all of the aforementioned ensembles, as well as friends and members from all across the US. Singers are able to audition for a variety of different experiences, ranging from competitions to festivals to everything in between!
