28 April 2026: SCHOLA UPDATE

Dear Schola,

Here we go!!! Tonight is as close to a dress rehearsal as we are going to get (no, you do not need to be dressed in concert attire tonight). We will start together in 118 and then walk over to Puglisi together to meet with the orchestra. As a reminder, we are starting at 7:00 pm tonight for our warm up and to run through the fugue before our 7:30 pm start with the orchestra. We will likely go until around 10:00 pm tonight, so feed your parking meter accordingly! If you will be arriving late, please use your best judgment to join us on the risers in Puglisi Orchestra Hall so as to not disrupt the flow of rehearsal.

When you arrive at rehearsal tonight, be prepared to answer 3 questions:

  1. Do you need to ride the bus from Amy E to Wilmington on Saturday?
  2. Do you need to ride the bus back from Wilmington to Amy E on Saturday?
  3. Do you want pizza on Saturday before the concert?

Rehearsal order: We will run the Mozart in full, followed by the Forrest in full.

Attire: There are a few people who still need to pick up uniform pieces from Amy. She will have those at the table by the door in 118. Please do not leave tonight without those! If you still haven’t ordered your concert attire, do not leave tonight without talking to Amy.

Chairs: Paul will set a row of chairs in front of the risers for those who need them. There will be times that we can sit on the risers tonight during rehearsal, but we will be standing for a good bit. For the concert, we will stand for 40 minutes, have a 20 minute intermission, and then stand for the next 40 minutes. Again, chairs will be provided at the concert for those who need them. You do NOT need to comment below :)

Box office problem: Apparently the link to buy tickets on each event does not work, but the box office link DOES work! Try clicking here to purchase your tickets. So sorry about the technical difficulties! Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Clean up crew needed: Are there any Schola singers willing to help clean up after pizza and before the concert on Saturday? Chorale kids have already been tasked with the heavy lifting of risers and equipment. Please comment on this post if you are willing to help with clean up.

  1. Hi! I figured I’d respond here. I will need a chair please tonight and for performances and No bus and No pizza for me though. Thank you!!

  2. I purchased several tickets for the Saturday, May 2nd, at the UD Box Office last week. Just to give everyone a heads-up, the performance venue printed on the tickets was “Gore Recital Hall.” The ticket person told me that they did not know why that appeared since the website info indicates St. Elizabeth’s Church. I told the people that I gave the tickets the correct venue.

I can help with pizza clean-up.

  3. Thank you for providing chairs! I’m only occasionally out of the boot and am still supposed to stay off the foot when I can, so tonight and concerts I’ll need to stay seated.
